Can anyone help my computer load and run faster?

idk why its being so slow. it wasnt like this before. it takes like 5 minutes for the windows loading thing to be done and another 5 minutes for it to load into my profile. it didnt take this long before, idk why its doing this now. i tried almost everything to make it back to normal. i scanned it for viruses with norton antivirus, i defragmented it, i took out programs i didnt want anymore and deleted files. i used ccleaner and registry mechanic (trial version) and still its slow =[ can anyone help me make it fast again without having to get it repaired from like geek squad or something plz? thanks =] will buying another ram thingy work? cuz this computer only has 510 mb and has space for another one.

How can I boot Windows XP in DOS without having bootable disk?

Hi,

I've just started a part time job in computer repairing %26 Installation. Sometimes I need to boot the Windows XP in DOS prompt without having bootable disk?. How can I boot Windows XP in DOS without bootable disk? and Where Can I get a batch file for Windows XP installation (When I have 10-20 computers) so then I don't need configure each and every computer.

How can I boot Windows XP in DOS without having bootable disk?free antivirus download

To get the dos screen use safe mode with dos prompt. For multiple loads, you need to have a Microsoft multi licence as otherwise you will be installing one copy of XP to every machine, this will kill the activation. Your customers will be very unhappy, and if they report you to MS you will be very broke for the rest of your life.

using Ghost to image computers will probably not be useful since all your computers to repair will be of different brands and configurations
Your best bet is to use an imaging program (like Norton's ghost) to set up the installation on the network. Then create a bootable floppy disk that will connect to the network location and install the image over the network. Ghosts documentation should tell you how to do this.

What kind of virus can possibly cause the following problem with a PC?

Windows can't get downloaded, it reboots itself, It also looks like you are in DOC.

Process of rebooting can go on and on and on. A couple of my friends got such a problem in the past and I got it a few days ago. There is no way to repair computer by yourself. Files will be lost if not go to pros and reinstall Windows.

I am interested - what kind of virus can cause this problem?

you'd have to remove the hard drive and back them up to a secondary.

How do you restart the WHOLE computer sytem?

Ok, my friend gave me his laptop for free and when I went on the laptop it had a lot of his personal stuff, a lot of music I dislike , wrong settings for virtually everything I had, a lot of unnecessary stuff downloaded. So I was wondering how do I restart the whole system which will delete everything and make the computer sort of start over? I remember having my other computer repaired and he wiped out eveyrthing. Really appreciate any feedback which contributes to this issue. Thanks!

Sometimes Dells and HPs (and others) have a hidden restore partition. Unfortunately there is no standard way to access it. You'd have to visit the support website of the manufacturer and see 1) if that model has a restore partition and 2) how to access it.

Nuke the whole computer. Buy a copy of Windows Vista or try Ubuntu Linux, its free !
Reformat the hard drive This site provides all of the answers.

Hopefully you have either windows xp or vista disc, or at least a recovery CD.

Put the CD in and restart the machine, it should, if it's a recovery disc ask you if you want to repair or reinstall windows, if you want to format the drive then pick reinstall windows, it may or may not give you format options as to which format you want to install windows to (generally this will be the largest partition, just pick the option with the higher number)

Go to buy.com and you get a wireless card and a router for 150 to 200 buck.

Buy it there and call your local Techie and see how much to install one if you do not know how.

It would not cost much to get installed.

The card and the labor may add up to $200. If money

is no problem, this is the way to go. If you don't

mind getting just as good a solution (but maybe not

just as pretty) for only $50, then read on...

Forget the mini-PCi card, and get yourself a USB 2.0

wireless adapter. Many vendors offer such adapters

for $50 to $70. These are tiny adapters shorter than

your index finger. They plug in to any of the USB

    ports on your laptop.

I use Netgear WG-111 v2, which I bought for less than

$50 at BUY.com, and it works very nicely for me.

Linksys, Ddata, and other vendors also have similar

products. The labor cost? Nothing. It took me 3

minutes to install my adapter and configure it with

    the software provided by Netgear.

The best part of a USB adapter is the fact that you use

it when you want to. When you don't need it, just

unplug it and never worry about anybody reaching your

    computer by broadband.
