Computer boot-up failure? Additional details: Boot-up mode had seemed to change to bois settings?

Hi one of my other laptops has got a major proplem and i was just wondering if you could help me have a better understanding of what the proplem is before i send it for repair and also if you know how the proplem can be resolved that would also be very helpful. Ok my computer needing repaired is using windows Xp perfessional os. I think it had a problem with its fan which was making a huge racket when booting up and was stoping and starting every few seconds. When i relized that there was a proplem i stopped using that computer for about a couple of weeks. I optomistically turned it back on to see is the proplem had solved itself and thats when the real problem began. When the computer boot-up it came up with the options to start the computer in safe mode. etc. I select start windows normally. Windows boots-up and then you see a sudden quick flash of blue which seemed to have text on it of which one word i made out was install (it had text before it). Then the computer resarts itself.

Sounds like you have a virus. You will have to reformat the hard drive and install the OS again.
Reintall you Windows Operation System.
It sounds like since your fan is not working properly your cpu is heating up and shutting down, You need to get the fan replaced.
