New Electric range. Only 3 months old and does come with warranty. But in storm the computer to cloc

was blown out. The burners worked fine. Repair man said if I had not had warranty, that the cost would have been $200 or more. How do I prevent this from happening in future? Is hard to move stove out and pull plug during storm. What a rip these new computerized appliances are.

I would recommend installing a whole house surge protector at your electrical panel. These are between $100.00 - $300.00 depending on the brand. A whole house surge protector will help prevent power surges from entering your house. Your electrical system must also be properly grounded for the surge protection to work.

I like the Cutler Hammer CHSPMAX. This one installs in any brand panel in is only $125.00 installed. Of course, pricing varies throughout the country.

you could try asking someone electrically inclined to install a surge protector in behind the stove since only the burnners are 220v. Or get a new regular stove. thats the problem with the new stuff . The more it has the more that can break
