Computer Help. Question # 2?norton
If you use the windows xp cd to repair it, it won't delete your files.
But the error you described, about the blue screen, can be caused by software problems, or by hardware problems.
The best thing you can do right now for your computer, after you use that repair option from the cd, will be to make a safe copy of all your data, and then scan your entire hard disk for viruses, and defragment it. If the error persist, you may need to format it, (after you backup your data), and reinstall the operating system. If the error persist after formating, there is a hardware error, and you should contact a service center.
