How come my USB ports in my computer will not detect anything????suzuki

Installing chipset drivers should resolve the issue. Here is the URL to download the chipset drivers from the chipset manufacturer's site :

Else, contact HP online technician here :

Click Start, then Run. Type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and click OK.

Your USB should be down near the bottom of the window. Look for yellow dots with an exclamation point or red dots with an X. Either mean the USB in your computer has some kind of problem.

USB is usually part of the motherboard, so you'll most likely have to take the machine to a repair person to fix it.
IF YOUR USB PORT IS ON THE MOTHERBOARD DISABLE IT AND ADD A SEPARATE USB CARD ON YOUR PCI SLOT AND EVERYTHING SHOULD WORK FINE IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SEPARATE USB CARD INSTALLED ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD REMOVE IT AND CLEAN THE GOLD TIP WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL AND LET IT DRY THEN REINSTALL IT ON THE MOTHERBOARD AND MAKE SURE IT SIT FIRMLY ON THE BOARD, IF THAT DOES NOT WORK BUY A NEW USB CARD DVD-MASTER
cuz u have an hp
Most USB problems in Windows can be resolved by disabling USB Legacy Support in the BIOS.

Use the following steps to enable or disable USB Legacy Support on your PC:

Turn on the PC.

When the first screen displays press F1 repeatedly until the setup screen displays.

Use the Left and Right arrow keys to select the Advanced tab.

Use the Up, Down, keys to select Legacy USB Support and then press Enter.

Use the Up, Down, and Enter keys to select Enabled or Disabled and Enter.

Press F10 to save settings and exit.
