Is there a recovery method to my mess?

in august of 2005 on aol i went to my current phone company, accessed my call detail for the past 12 months. printed each month individualyfrom the site to my printer, a few days later i stumbeled accrosed and viewed them. about a month later i had my notebook completly reformated and again in january of 06. in november of 05 i could not find them with three differant file recovery programs then i did a system restore create a date slyte just like my computer repair buddy told me not to. i do everything i get told i cant, cause i love the challange and not afraid to fail. besides i've forgoten more than my comp. tech. will ever know. realy he's brilliant and i'll stick with my day job. he's told me to give up, i see that as a challange. i tried to tell the auditor from the irs to give up, they didnt. i lost my paper coppies, loosing to the state, have differant phone co. and no longer can access old phone records. anybody like a challange?

Odds are, in the time since you saved and deleted those files from your disk, you've had enough reads and writes over them that you've done the equivalent of a secure erase of those files. At this point trying to recover those files isn't cool, it isn't "a challenge", it's moronic. If you really need your phone records, you need to call the company. Even if you are no longer a current customer, when you change providers, they don't just throw out your records. They are required to keep them for a certain amount of time, and whatever that time period is, it's longer than a year or two.
