My laptop is not lighting up right, how can i get it to be bright and clear?

I was told my several computer repair people that it needed a behind the screen inversion light replaced.. however no one wants to do this. The screen is like dark shadows, you can see colors but they are pastels.. nothing bright and clear........... Why does no one want to replace this on the laptop ?

Use the ''Fn'' key and the key that looks like a sun. One is up and the other is down.

turn off your computer and charge it for 3 or 4 days. That might solve the problem.
is it plugged in? When I go on battery power my screen brightness diminishes.

All the answers are right...your laptop goes on a poer save when you switch to battery power and are not plugged in...As a result your laptop screen dulls bit...Also if you old down the blue Fn and look for a sun with an up arrow...near it will be a sun with a down arrow...These toggle the screen brightness...The Fn button is usually the farthest key on the bottom left part of the keyboard and the suns are usually the home and end keys or the up and down arrows...If you put the brightness all the way up and are still not satisfied then I suggest plugging it in for an extra burst of power and brightness...half the time you don't need to unplug your laptop...It is not worth replacing...
