What is the average life span of a computer if it is turned on 24/7?

how long will it run at 100%? and also since i said 100%, im wondering which part would likely be the first one to be replaced/repaired. i know for a fact that monitors could last up to 10 years.

With good power supply and ventilation, HDD could go first. HDDs have 100,000 hours MTBF (11 years). Otherwise, it could be the power supply that will conk out first. OR PC could become obsolete before it fails.

It depends on alot of things if it is a custome bult pc Dell ect... the fist thing probbly be the PSW but if the system is under ventalated things can overheat and burn out the graphix card probly be the second thing to go due to overheat.

A high teck gaming computer will last about 1-5 years maby more if your lucky.

A normal desktop used for mid range gaming pc can last anything past 3 years.

A desktop buesness computer will be the same as a normal pc

If your going to buy a new computer go with a good make and good luck : )
This will vary greatly depending on the hardware. There are machines that have uptimes of years, most of these machines run BSD or Linux. Linux is a little more difficult to measure long uptimes on because the counter gets reset at somewhere around 500 days. On netcraft the list of longest uptimes includes an average of around 1200 days among the top 50.

In my experience, the component that most often fails is the power supply.
power supplies normally go 1st./in sleep mode-could last a long time(10-20yrs.) or more.
